Are you considering a remote way to volunteer? With a fun, diverse, flexible and supportive organisation?

Jinran discovered an enjoyable volunteering gig. As the HR Manager and a member of the Marketing Department, she’s devoted to discovering fresh talent to join on board, motivated by the lively members she works with, and in contact with other individuals. Jinran enjoys having diverse positions because she never has a similar day. Jinran was looking for a place to help: offered remote work, a foreigner-friendly vibe and a supportive group. On Instagram, she came upon ads for joining TechLabs Berlin.

Covid-19 Made Volunteering Go Remote

The pandemic motivated her to find volunteer work to make her complete. TechLabs met the values she wanted. As the pandemic continued, Jinran watched Covid-19 make two realities: the physical and digital. TechLabs functions, with these realities, by using online forums and live video meetings. The organisation connects members by utilising the digital realm, so members receive a sense of exchange from others. The digital approach allows members a link to a community and a feel of involvement, thus not letting them experience loneliness. She realised how TechLabs digital elements made volunteering a positive experience for anyone homebound.

Special Memories in Berlin

Jinran desired special memories of Berlin and wasn’t sure how much time she would’ve here. TechLabs allowed her to make memories, carry out exciting projects, network with other professionals, and promote the organisation to the public. As a member with two different roles, she has managed HR operations and helped with marketing campaigns. She found TechLabs was excellent for meeting foreigners and locals. She mentioned, with delight, one vital benefit: “volunteering lets foreign volunteers understand more about German culture.” If foreigners understand the cultural differences, they can easily join the society. TechLabs will give fresh volunteers new friends and memories.

We Love TechLabs….

because we can visualise and create.

At TechLabs, both international and local volunteers practice, study and support equality in technology together. “Anybody looking to develop or wanting to understand technology better should join,” Jinran said with a laugh. TechLabs is not making any profit, but offering freedom to design. All members can dream and turn their dreams into reality. In the end, Jinran is a content member of a welcoming, diverse and supportive group of digital shapers.
