What do you get with adding 10 drops of diversity, a 1.5 litre of marketing, a dash of Berlin spice, a dab of Hamburg and 2 bars of toffee milk chocolate? You find Lina, a Marketing Strategist standing with diversity in tech and building brilliant marketing strategies. She enjoys keeping the organisation’s image fresh, designing innovative measures to market and being part of a dynamic marketing team. As a volunteer, her superpowers are in strategic marketing and helping design action plans with Marketing. The areas of education, strengthening personal development, giving back to the community were some reasons to volunteer. The volunteering fills Lina with bliss because the chance to support a good cause is rewarding.

Education Will Guide You

Did you know IT is missing some major revenue opportunities?

According to Todd Thibodeaux, the CEO of CompTIA, IT companies could gain money by simply implementing diversity efforts into their values and hiring personnel from different backgrounds. With this tweak, there could be an increase of an extra $400 billion in revenue each year.

She heard TechLabs advocated for diversity by educating anyone interested to learn IT skills. Lina agreed the field of technology needs more diversification. She said, “Education costs money and TechLabs is creating more equality for everyone regardless of economic circumstances.” An NGO working hard to bridge the inequality gaps and make technology accessible should be more popular. These goals are for honourable causes. As Sydney J. Harris said, “The entire purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.” TechLabs is aiming for the IT field to have a mixture of people from different backgrounds. When there’s more diversification and creation coming from various of people, technology will be equal for everybody. With an array of many backgrounds merging into one, the future can be a place where all can involved in technology.

Growing like a Tree with Fruitful Knowledge

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to the world.” -Nelson Mandela

Just like a little seed, volunteers can experience growth in personal development and skills. TechLabs presents opportunities for volunteers to achieve new skills they can’t normally get at work. She grinned and said, “This is the place where one can come with an idea and work on it. Nobody is going to stop them.” The experiences picked up here able new doors to open. If you come to volunteer, be open to sharing your ideas and to trying new concepts because you will learn new skills and gain useful knowledge. Remember! Volunteering is the best way to explore different jobs and is a bonus booster CV for anyone.

If You are Going to Gift It, Give it with Passion… Passion Lasts Forever

“You can’t fake passion.” -Barbara Corcoran

Many members are passionate and show devotion by investing time. Lina told of her experience at the last Term Final Presentation Night. She admired the group called “I am an Emergency’’ and the passion they showed for their project. She recognised the zeal they had made them produce an excellent project. Passion is not something found at the REWE or LIDL. One way to access it is to join TechLabs Berlin.

Be Our Volunteer… Oh! Please Be Our Volunteer…

Finally, all volunteers are open-minded, welcoming and friendly individuals. The group will embrace other backgrounds. It impressed Lina by how well the volunteers work together, being all remote. She felt there is a strong relationship among members and liked the sense of connecting with other volunteers. We all impact each other by communicating and sharing. We have some questions for you!
